Lumps and Bumps in the Night Monday 9:00 - 4:30 $130 Darlene Olivia McElroy
Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Process
Okay, they really aren’t bumps in the night, but adding “lumps and bumps” to your art really can make the difference between ho-hum and wow! Join me in this fast paced class for a library of techniques that you will take home and use in your artwork from now on. The surface of your artworks should hold interest for the viewer whether it has been added, subtracted, resisted, embossed, embedded, rusted - well, you get the idea. We're going to spend the day doing all of that and more!
The use of simple, everyday "stuff" can make your art stand out in the gallery. We'll play with "stuff" like aluminum foil, tapes, stamps, stencils, sandpaper, plastic wrap, alcohol (nope, we're not drinking it!), glues, salt, soap, bolts, rust, nails - I could go on and on.
Although it's not a prerequisite, this class works well as a prelude class to my Echoed Images workshop.
Materials Fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes: foils, tapes, gels, glue, alcohol, salt, wax, resin, papers, sandpaper, gesso, plastic wrap, “stuff” and use of Instructor’s stamps, stencils, embossing tools
