Lost Treasures Memory Book Tuesday 1:30 - 4:30 $60
  Lynne Ann Schwarzenberg

Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Project and Technique

Making your own memory books can be a great way to capture the moments we all would like to hang onto. In this class, Lynne Ann will teach students how to easily distress paper to make it look ancient and tattered, create molded and antiqued polymer clay pieces to decorate the front of the book, create a unique closure button, and best of all, make a memory book using the UniBind system which is an incredibly strong, unbelievably simple method to create a bound book with whatever inner materials you would like to use (paper, photos, fabric, cardstock, vellum, plastic, leather, etc.) Although the class samples are pirate and floral themed, the students can choose from a number of polymer clay molds, stamps, and found objects to create their memory book. The twined closure button, antiquing, molding, and binding techniques learned will be the same, but each student’s book can be a unique work of art!

Kit Fee of $15 payable to Instructor at class time includes: UniBind 4x6” memory book blank, several sheets of paper, distressing materials, polymer clay for making molded elements of the book’s design, paint, cornstarch, texture tools, stiff brush, glaze, special adhesive material, cutting tools, twine, small key, baby wipes, deli wrap, index cards, and use of instructor’s cutters, stamps, ink, and tools, highly detailed written instructions
