Learn how to get started in publishing your creative designs. Award winning artist and author Lisa Pavelka will share with you essential knowledge on how to get your instructional projects into print. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of how to approach magazines with your work including query method, what editors look for, photography essentials, and more. Lisa will explain why previous writing experience is not essential and how to smile in the face of rejection. Also covered will be how to write an outline for a book proposal, what to expect in regards to compensation, resources for getting started and more. A period for questions and answers will be included. Informational handouts and writing samples will be provided for participants to take home. Resource samples will also be on hand.

Lisa is the sole author of four books and a contributing author and designer to several more. She is a regular columnist and feature writer for Bead Unique, Metal Clay Artist, and Polymer Café magazines. She is also a frequent contributor to dozens of national publications including: Bead & Button, Belle Armoire, Belle Armoire Jewelry, Family Circle, and Today’s Creative Home Arts to name a few.
