In this class we’ll start with learning some transparent painting techniques. We’ll then choose one of the paintings and add a small image to it. A simple transfer technique will be used to enhance the image. Metal leaf or foil may be added to further enhance the work. Students will then frame their works using copper tape to attach it to a piece of plexi. A frame will be assembled from copper tubing. The artwork will then be hung in the frame.
Kit/Materials fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Paints and Mediums, Transparencies for transfers, Copper Tape, Copper frames, Plexiglass, Gold leaf, sizing and metal foilsSupply List:
- Golden Taklon Brush approx. 1” in size
- Water container (about 16 oz.)
- 9 x 12 Strathmore 300 watercolor paper – about 6 sheets
- Images – color copies, approx. 2 1/2’ – 3” wide
- Glue stick
- Bone folder
- Exacto knife, cutting mat, metal ruler
- Copper Wire and wire cutter
