Have you ever wanted to try your hand at wordworking and marquetry on a small scale to make jewelry, but were just too daunted by the process? Using polymer clay, we can make stunning pieces in a fraction of the time and mimic wood so well that no one will guess what your jewelry is actually made from! In this class, you will learn several recipes to make faux wood, learn to texture and finish it to perfection as well as make a stunning piece incorporating geometric stamps, pieces of faux stone, and/or utilizing cutters and shape templates. The piece will be set in a copper Patera finding from Nunn Design. (www.nunndesign.com).

Students will complete a faux wood and turquoise pendant in class, but will also have sheets of faux wood and a turquoise cane to work with on future projects.

Kit Fee of $16 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Copper Patera bezel from Nunn Design, six colors of polymer clay for a total of 4 oz.(both Premo and Kato brand will be provided), paint, custom made plastic template, cornstarch, texture tool, stiff brush, glaze, special adhesive material, cutting tool, baby wipes, deli wrap, index cards, and use of instructor’s cutters, stamps, and tools, highly detailed written instructions
