Type of Workshop: Process and Project

This is a 6 hour workshop taught on two consecutive evenings.

Create five gorgeous glass cabochons to use for jewelry or embellishments in your collage, assemblage, and book arts. If you thought glass was too hard, too expensive, or too time-consuming, this two-session class will change your mind. You won't believe your eyes when you see the finished projects! I've taught hundreds of people, including children and seniors, how to safely create dazzling dichroic mosaic gems. In the first session you will learn how to choose, cut, arrange and fire regular and dichroic glass, completing 2 cabochons. In the second session you will learn how to choose the kiln that's right for you, how to grind, shape, and finish your fired pieces, and create 3 more cabs. Some of your finished pieces will be available the day after class. Some will be mailed home. You will also receive the findings and full instructions for turning your glass creations into pendants and brooches. After this class you will be able to make your own pieces and fire them yourself!

Kit fee of $20 is payable to Instructor at classtime and includes everything you need to make 5 showpiece glass cabochons, including glass, firing, bails and pin backs. In addition, I will be available via email to give continuing support and answer questions.

Instructor supplies all tools, handouts and materials.

    Supply List:
Please wear glasses or safety goggles

    Optional:
