Learn how to make beads using copper metal clay. Techniques include covering bead cores with copper clay and slip and then creating textures and setting stones to embellish the beads. Firing methods to properly fire the copper clay with be demonstrated. Discover my own technique for covering ceramic bisque beads with slip made from the clay, which can then be decorated with clay designs. You must be present the following day to pick up the beads as they require a 3 hour firing schedule.
Supplies provided by Instructor: finishing and firing supplies
Optional Kit fee of $45 payable to Instructor at class time includes: Copper metal clay, bead cores, basic supplies for metal clay, CZ stones

3-5 Bisque bead cores-ceramic suppliers
3 CZ stones

Teflon sheet or other work surface (sherrihaab-shop.com)
10 playing cards (walmart-or grocery store)
Olive oil or badger balm (grocery store, price varies)
Cup for water
Nail File (walmart or grocery store)
Wet Wipes (walmart, or grocery store, price varies)

- needle tool or similar tool to pierce holes in clay
- small paint brush.
