Beaded Ribbon Bracelet Wednesday 9:00 - 4:30 $100
  CR Radding

Student Level:
All
Type of Workshop: Project

Be inspired by the compelling color, texture, & pattern of a gorgeous ribbon, used as a base for one-of-a-kind bracelet. Bead as little or as much as you like to enhance and embellish the ribbon and learn the finishing techniques for backing the base, fringing the edges, and adding a closure.

*Optional Kit Fee of $45 payable to instructor at class time includes: decorative ribbon, beads, interfacing, ultra suede backing, beading needles and thread, and button for closure.

Supplies Provided by Teacher: Peltex interfacing, Tacky Glue, Fray Check, bees wax, and use of beading pads

*Students choosing not to purchase kit from Instructor must bring the following items:
  • About 1/4 to 1/3 yard of decorative ribbon (length of bracelet plus 2” ). I like to use Jacquards and embroidered ribbons with a pattern – but plain ribbons can be beautiful, and ribbons can be layered for different effects. Ribbons will be available in class.
  • Scrap of Ultra Suede for backing – as long and a little wider than your ribbon. Some will be available in class.
  • Assorted beads; seed beads in at least 5 or more colors and sizes, and tiny to medium beads in a variety of shapes and sizes (suggestions; faceted fire polished beads, crystals, pearls, flat-backed sew-ons, sequins, bugle beads, semi-precious, and flat shapes, etc.).
  • One or two decorative buttons for closure, or a decorative box clasp.
  • Beading needles size 12.
  • Beading thread – Nymo B or D, Silamide, or other.
Tool List - all students must bring:
  • Sharp scissors
  • Straight pins
  • Tape measure and ruler
  • Pencil
  • Ott light or work light, and extension cord.
