Tracie Lyn Huskamp’s dream of sharing her love of nature with others continues through teaching workshops and with the September 2009 release of her new book, Nature Inspired – Mixed Media Techniques for Gathering, Sketching, Painting, Journaling, and Assemblage, published by Rockport Quarry. She has participated as a workshop instructor at some of the most popular art and fiber retreats and conferences in the U.S. and England, such as Art & Soul, Artfest, Fiberfest, International Quilt Festival, Squam Art Retreat, Art Unraveled, and Festival of Quilts, Birmingham England.

Tracie holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Fine Art. Her mixed-media work has received both regional and national recognition. Her art is collected both nationally and internationally. She appeared on the cover of Somerset Studio Magazine, along with feature articles in Cloth, Paper, Scissors Magazine, Stampington’s Artful Blogger, Stampington’s Life Images, and Quilting Arts Gifts Issue. Tracie has contributed to a number of artist’s books, such as 1000 Artist Journal Pages by Dawn Sokol, True Vision by L.K. Ludwig, The Creative Entrepreneur by Lisa Sonora Beam, Wildfire Journaling by L.K. Ludwig, 1000 Artisan Textiles by Sandra Salamony, and Drawing Lab by Carla Sonheim.

Marylin Huskamp is a self-taught artist who has a love of mixed-media and fibers. She has worked with these mediums in various ways for over 50 years. Her passion began at the age of 11 when she attended her first sewing class than began to broaden her talents by creating dolls. After spending several years attending painting classes her work has evolved into combining fibers and painting techniques to compose beautiful works of art. She is constantly experimenting to find new and interesting ways to achieve greater depth in her piece.

Marylin’s fiber work has received national recognition. Her art has appeared in various publications, including Somerset Belle Armoire, Altered Couture, Haute Handbag, Cloth, Paper, Scissors, and Fibre&Stitch. She is a proud contributor to the books, Collaborative Art Journals by L.K. Ludwig, and 1000 Artisan Textiles by Sandra Salamony. She has also participated as a workshop instructor at some of the most popular art and fiber retreats and conferences in the U.S., such as Art & Soul, Artfest, Fiberfest, International Quilt Festival, and Art Unraveled.
